  • I'm having a hard time getting the ice pack out of the lid.
With the ice pack facing you, use your right hand to bend back the right tab (or right corner if there are four tabs).  At the same time, insert your left thumb into the hole in the center of the ice pack.  Pull away from each other to pop out the ice pack.

  • I can’t find a retailer nearby, what are my options?
You can either purchase them online from one of our fine online retail partners or you can purchase them from our website, http://shop.fit-fresh.com or call us at 1-800-858-8840.

  • I’m afraid that the plastic will leach into my food when heated in the microwave.  Is this a possibility?
Please be assured that all of our items are made from the safest material on the market and are all BPA free.  BPA, or bisphenol A, is the chemical used to manufacture the lining of food and beverage cans and polycarbonate plastic products.  BPA has been called into question in recent years for leaching into food products when heated.  Again, all of our products are BPA free, and have been tested to the highest FDA standards for being able to be labeled as “microwave safe”.  So you can use them with complete confidence.

  • Do you sell replacement parts?
You betcha!  We have many of our most requested parts available for purchase in our store.  If you don't find what you are looking for, please give us a call at 1-800-858-8840 or email us at info@fit-fresh.com.

  • Are your products microwavable and dishwasher safe?
All of our items are dishwasher safe with the exception of the ice packs.  All items are microwavable with the exception of those pieces with metal components and the ice packs.

  • Are your products recyclable?
All of our plastic and the metal products are recyclable.

  • I heated up some carrots and now the container seems to be stained orange.  Is that a problem?
Certain fruits and vegetables have a natural tendency to stain plastic. Carrots, tomatoes, sweet potatoes and other fruits and vegetables contain natural dyes that may discolor certain materials. Please note that this is a common occurrence that does not affect the product’s performance in any way.

Most vegetables are able to be cut raw with the container.  However, if you come across a vegetable that is proving to be difficult, we recommend steaming it first before dicing.

Fresh Starts Steamer – Item #466FFJV
  • The recommended 90 seconds was not enough.  Am I doing something wrong?
Of course not!  Each microwave comes in a different wattage and some are stronger than others.  90 seconds is the recommended average across all brands and models.  We suggest you add or subtract 30 seconds each time to see what your oven’s optimal cooking time is.  Foods will also vary, so again, please test as you go along to ensure you have reached the consistency your baby likes.
